Overview
KV Media ("we," "us," "our") provides an app that generates AI-narrated video briefings of news headlines. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
When you sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple, we receive and store your email address, name, and profile photo (if provided by that sign-in method), along with a unique account identifier issued by Firebase Authentication. We do not collect your location, contacts, or device identifiers beyond what's needed to authenticate you.
How we use your information
Your account information is used solely to sign you in, keep your session active across app launches, and let you manage or delete your account. We do not sell your data, use it for targeted advertising, or share it with data brokers.
News content
Briefing content (headlines, scripts, and videos) is generated from third-party news sources and shown to all signed-in users. This content is not tied to your individual account or personal data.
Reports and feedback
If you report a briefing or send feedback from within the app, we store the text you submit, any email address you choose to include, your account identifier, the app version, and platform, so we can review and respond. This is used only for support and content moderation.
Notifications
The daily-briefing notification is optional and off by default. If you turn it on, your device subscribes to a shared notification topic; we do not collect or store a device identifier or push token, and we cannot use it to identify you. You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings or in your device settings.
Third-party services
We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Messaging for optional notifications) to run the app, and Google Sign-In / Sign in with Apple for authentication. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in this app.
Data retention and deletion
Your account data is retained until you delete it. You can permanently delete your account and associated data at any time from Profile → Delete account in the app. This action is immediate and cannot be undone.
Children's privacy
KV Media is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
